Four Day School Week One of the most dreaded things for teens and kids is school. Even though it is something we all have to do and it will help us in the future, it is one thing that most kids just hate. Going to school every day requires you to be awake and alert while listening and doing what a teacher says for over 7 hours. Then on top of that they hand out homework that is due in the next day or so. For these reasons you can understand why children and teens have a hard time wanting to go to school and enjoying it. What kids what is too wake up late, hang out with friends, relax and watch television, not to go sit in a class for five days a week. This is way the question of a four week work day is being brought up. The only way to accomplish switching to a four day week for school would be by extending the hours of the usual day to almost 10 hours a day. …show more content…
Things that would come with a longer school day would probably be a break in the morning, a longer lunch, and the seven classes on your schedule being extended. They could even add an eighth class to your schedule allowing you to earn more credits leading into college. Even just extending the seven periods wouldn’t be too much of a change and it could actually lead to less homework, giving you more time to get that kind of stuff done during class time. This then leaves three out of the seven days a week getting to be spent however you would like. It would also allow you to be able to travel over the weekend and not having to worry about going somewhere one day and driving back the next. It opens up endless possibilities on how it could be a positive thing for students to spend more time out side of a
