NRL Atmospheric Variation Data Assimilation System. NAVDAS gernerates the global initial conditions (observations) every 6hrs for NOGAPS which improves the analysis and forecast by giving a 3D shot for the first guess.

|
Automated Weather Network data is the global network of satellite and landline curicuits used to collect and disseminate environmental data and other aviation related information and comes into NOGAPS via ISIS.

DMDS processes all incoming messages and will know if an observation message needs to be sent to ISIS for ingesting into NOGAPS.
