"One of the greatest discoveries a man makes, one of his great surprises, is to find he can do what he was afraid he couldn't do,"this quote by Henry Ford reconnects when it comes to facing something you're afraid of; our fears. When we get over fears, we realize only then that we had the courage before to do that something we were afraid of doing. One time I was afraid was when I started ice skating. I was at a party for my younger sister's friend at an ice ring.…

Hi mom and dad I like to live in the coastal plains because it has all the resources us humans need unlike the west part of Texas. This part of Texas is mainly filled with human resources. First reason I would love to stay here is because of the education, here there is more city than country so there would be lots of room for development. Another reason is that there is more things to do over here than out there in the barren landscape, here in the coastal plains it would be easier to find a job because there are lots of people but in the west you would have to travel miles to find a job place. In the coastal plains there is lots of food and water, the best sources of water for us are the rivers of Texas, the food comes from the organic producing…

“Why leave New York City to live here?” That is the question that often follows when someone learns of my family’s decision to move from the capital of the world to settle down in the uneventful Dauphin, Pennsylvania. The justification I generally give involves a statement about New York’s high living expenses and is often accompanied by my convincingly forced laughter. Such conversations lead me to speculate about the vast amount of people who romanticize New York City because of how the media portrays it as: the place where all dreams supposedly come true. I do not mean to sound like a broken record, but, sharing a small one bedroom apartment with five others is not an image you can expect to see on the big screen.…

Isolated from civilization, hundreds of kilometers away from the closest city, surrounded by land and more land, is the location of Mountain Apolaia. Covered mostly, in freezing ice for most of the year, and the target of a weather capable of frightening even the bravest of men, skiers know it as the mountain with the toughest slopes on the planet. The slopes are divided in two sections, the slopes of submission and pride slopes. Although both extremely difficult, most men, with the least sense of self-preservation, take the “easiest” slopes, submission slopes. While the more audacious skiers that challenge mother nature, take the pride slopes, which often results in severe injuries and even death.…
