Steroids Many people have heard of steroids but have done little research on the topic. Steroids is a relatively young drug seeing how it only been 70 years. People only know the bad about the drug and that it is outlawed by most sport leagues including the olympics. If you're not in the medical field it can be hard to truly know the true facts about steroids. Humans have been trying to increase performance since the dawn of time. Dating all the way back to Greece when atheletes ate testical of animals before sporting events trying to increase their performance. Steroids can be injected. They have oral pills you could take. They even have inhalable substances you can buy. When taking steroids, you should have a doctor regularly monitoring hormone levels. There are currently three main regiments of using steroids. There is cycling which is periodic dosing. This common when people use the drug medically. There is stacking where they use 2 different type of steroids to make sure different types hormones grow evenly. Then there is the pyramid regimen where athletes use slightly more over time. Athletes often use a method of megadosing to quickly improve performance .Before someone starts taking steroids they should consult a doctor and make sure their body is healthy enough to use the drug. Steroids are safe as long as they are not abused. Each method of steroid has the same effectiveness. Pills can cause liver damage when abused so people tend to inject steroids. There are the medical advantages of using drugs like steroid. People with diseases like cancer and Hiv/Aids that deteriorate the body use it to help stay strong and keep body mass. Steroids also are good with inflammation as well for people with arthritis or inflammatory bowel disease. The most common users of steroid are athletes. They use steroid for a multitude of reason. Some parents give their small children steroid to help promote growth spurts. Athletes like lionel messi are prime example of this. You also have people who want to meet their maximum potential and use steroids as a means to reach it. Athletes have the pressure from the fans to perform well in events. Fans love to see consistent growth causing pressure on athletes to continue to get better or maintain a high production rate. When athlete get older and can not perform like their youthful self and need that boost to keep up with the competition some go to steroids. Steroids also helps athletes recover from injuries faster. Plus, steroids are safe as long as they are not abused and you regularly have a physician checking hormone
