As it states on Center for Disease Control and Prevention, alcohol can have a short-term health effect such as injuries like motor vehicle crashes, fall, drowning and burn, violence such as homicide, suicide, sexual assault, and intimate partner violence, and risky behavior including unprotected sex which can result to unplanned pregnancy or sexually transmitted diseases. Use of alcohol over time can also lead to long-term health risks such as high blood pressure, stroke, digestive problem or liver disease and all sorts of cancer It can also affect the mental health problem such as depression or anxiety and social problem such as unemployment and family problem. If this evidence is not alarming enough then the following will provide more evidence on why I believe that decriminalizing certain laws regarding alcohol is a horrendous idea.
