One of the most important aspect of any organization and for any organization to be successful is that respect needs to go both ways between the employer and the employees. One of the mistakes many organizations make is that there is empowerment or motivation given to the employees and therefore many either quit or get fired. One of the best way to increase customer satisfaction as well retention is to let the employees feel important to give some sort of empowerment so that the employees feel appreciated. Recognition is a very critical component of any company because without employees will not know if the tasks that is being done is correct or if everything is wrong. When it comes to the changes of Walgreens including the restricting of …show more content…
The reason for this is that many employees are nervous and shy and will not speak up in large groups therefore they feel more comfortable in smaller and known groups. BY creating this atmosphere, it creates a welcoming environment and the employees will feel wanted since they can finally speak up. Therefore, during the Walgreens changes occurring, small groups will be there in case other employees have concerns and or feedback to give. By moving to different buildings, many changes will occur so time is a really important aspect. Giving time to relax into the new buildings is needed especially when there are new employees as well. Each department will have a leader they can talk to and from there employees can also be the leader to their group if desired giving them empowerment. By giving them this type of empowerment, they will feel more motivated to do things that is good the for both the employees and the organization. A third way to help with the motivation and empowerment of the employees is by creating different initiates like step one day as a director so employees can have a feeling of what their boss goes through from day to day …show more content…
IT would be a barrier because since everyone works out of a laptop, all of them are logged in via the building they are using as well as the router meaning when going to the different buildings, the system information would need to be updated. However, one way around this is when we know what building the employees will be transferred, IT will receive a file with names of employees two weeks in advance in order for no issues to occur on the day of the move. Another barrier is parking because currently there are close to 600 parking spaces in the Walgreens corporate and yet there are close to 850 corporate employees. One solution that would exist because of the changes that Walgreens would do is the many employees would work from home which would reduce the parking there is. That would help both the current employees at Walgreens as well as the one from home because this would be called work for tomorrow which balances the work and life aspect. Overall, the changes that would be implemented by Walgreens would help both the employees become engaged in all aspects as well as motivational and

When I worked there, I had several friends who were cashiers with me; we would have little, informal competitions to see who could get the fastest scan-time. Not only do they not take pride in getting customers out in a timely manner, it seems that very few of them are friendly. They barely acknowledge their customers. 4. Some factors about the culture of the Wal-Mart corporation that detract from effectiveness are that, instead of being a family-owned business, like it was when it was started, it is now run by a board of directors who seem to be only interested in making money.…

Walgreens is a well-known company that is commonly said to be "on every corner". This drugstore chain - with its large quantity of locations and businesses - employs many people to fully staff each location. With that being stated, it is only inevitable that the company will run into issues with its employees. Rite Aid's intranet has been very informative if and when it can be accessed (Rite Aid, 2018). Often times it is virtually impossible to spend much time on the internet if the employee is working on location, in other words, the hustle and bustle of retailing are often too busy to really stop and read material (Nassar, 2007). However, with that being said, it is informative, often time the access is done for retail employees at the cash drawer, for it is a company computer (Nassar, 2007). Both Rite Aid and Walgreens have very colorful pages, however, Rite Aid intranet is friendly to access, more so than Walgreens, and that is not said with bias, the Walgreens' is easy enough to get into but difficult to exist for the system is depending on the employees knowledge of navigation (Nassar, 2007). As a former employee of Panda Express I have experienced and seen how employees are trained. Although the techniques that the newly employed individuals are taught can be effective, it doesn’t allow them to fully understand the concepts. Therefore they cannot perform their job correctly or efficiently, and would create problems later on from the lack of training. I have noticed several instances that can be fixed directly. Not only does a new way of training help the employees, it also benefits the managers and the establishment in return.…

In Rue, customers are not always greeted when walking in. This can be expected, but it isn’t a great quality in a store. Most of the time customer service reps are too busy checking customers out to personally attend to each customer. In other stores, specifically high-end stores, workers are assigned to each customer and are there to help the customer find whatever they are looking for. This can be great for some, especially when the price of the product is very high, but some people prefer to look around on their own and ask for help when needed.…

Key to Wal-Mart’s organizational culture is the understanding that its associates and the people Wal-Mart serves are its greatest assets, without which the organization could not succeed (Three Basic Beliefs, 2007). Organizational culture at Wal-Mart encompasses several key concepts, including sustainability, associate values and benefits, community giving, foundational and matching grants, scholarships, volunteerism, and personal development. Its effects are observed throughout the organization, from high level executives taking time to listen and respond to concerns of front-line associates choosing to exercise the open door policy, to employee meetings soliciting ideas and feedback from associates, regardless of tenure or location held, taking place in each of its stores. Customers experience its effects in the cheerful greeting received when entering or exiting a store and in Wal-Mart’s liberal merchandise return policies, while members of surrounding communities benefit from its community outreach…
