When trying to compete in the market, grocery stores must try to differentiate themselves from one another. These stores have to differentiate themselves in ways that bring value to the customers, with an attraction that will allow buy-in or that will put them at an advantage over their competitors. Competition is pretty high even within the local Bryan/College Station community. There is a strong brand preference with H-E-B in southern regions, specifically Texas. This is where Wal-Mart has to try and overcome this competition by strategically placing their stores along busy roads such as FM 2818. This will make it more visible for consumers and easier to access. Walmart also has an option to pick up items and many of the emergency items are placed in the front of the store, so that customers do not have to go all over the store to find certain items. This promotes accessibility and convenience for customers who are busy and would prefer going in and out of the store quickly.
