Gallup's Argument Against Segregation In The United States

The American founding fathers were whiny, white affluent men who revolted against their government, because they did not want to pay their share of taxes. This is how our country began; This is how our country is run today. The illusion of an American constitution protecting the rights of all of its citizens has historically been shown to be bent, and at times, fully violated without consequences. This nation is one of the fastest growing among its minorities, but the majority of its elected officials are disproportionally white. According to the public opinion polling company, Gallup, it polled non-Hispanic whites at 89 percent among conservatives, compared to 60 percent among liberals. This is not to show that all whites should be painted with the same brush, but it is the white conservatives in America that slow or even reverse simple inalienable rights for those who have more than a darker shade of white rice on their skin. Why is this? Why is there a living document that is the supreme law of our land, not protecting all of its citizens? consequently, the answer is simple; the builders of our nation had a high probability that they never foresaw a mix race country in its future, at least, not such a diverse nation we have today. The constitution’s bill of rights was written to protecting the white male. Not the females, not the minorities, nor the poor whites in America, it was the white affluent males. The original Constitution did not even consider enslaved African Americans as full citizens, or American Indians as any type of citizen. From the year the Constitution was ratified in 1789, it took seventy-five years and a civil war to start any real change in the way white America treated its minorities. The southern states have a bad historical reputation of oppressing black votes and segregating public interaction among races, but it is a fact, that all over America, at one point or another, white Americans violated the rights of every minority possible. It was all was taken care of during the 1960’s and we are no longer discriminated against anymore. This may in part be true, but the white conservatives have gain allies, including white liberals, in creating subtle “resegregation” among primary and secondary schools. It was reported in 2015 that the blue state of New York, has the nations most segregated schools (The New York Times, 2015). The United States Department of Education began investigating as to whether school districts have discriminate against non-whites minorities admissions into higher rated schools. This is to say, that in modern America, school systems have systematically isolated minorities to low rated, low funded public schools. No matter how you put it, this in itself is a violation of the Brown V. Schoolboard of Education. I am disgusted that this was allowed to happen in the first place, but all over the nation, court cases are reversing affirmative action in schools and universities, undermining the chance of any minority achieving a higher education.
