Just as God created the Heavens and the Earth in six days and rested on the seventh, He asks us to work for six days and rest on the seventh. He has set aside this day for us to reflect on His word and to give glory to Him. Even before the Ten Commandments were given to the people of Israel, God had signified that the seventh day was Holy. For example, in the dessert God would have the people grab twice as much manna on the sixth day because he would not provide them with any on the seventh. I have recently begun my relationship with God and have an immature understanding of Him and His Word. Before my relationship with God I never attended church or thought of God. I always worked or spent time with my friends on Sundays, God was the furthest thing from my mind. Even when I came to the Lord, I continued to violate this commandment. I typically worked on Sundays, and would sleep through church because I felt that I was tired. Remembering to keep the Sabbath day Holy is something that I will continue to work
