I think rikki should be proud of himself because of his bravery, his wit, and his strength. He battled two Cobra’s, he distracted Nagaina, and he battled 3 snakes and never lost.

I think he was brave because he single handedly fought two Cobra’s and destroyed the eggs. That is really hard for a young Mongoose like Rikki. Now that is real bravery. For an example in the story it says,”Rikki was plunged into the rat hole where Nag and her used to live.” on page 27. That is pretty brave to fight a snake underground in their lair. (Kipling 27)

He is also proved his strength when he battled Nag in the bathroom. He was being tossed like a rag doll and was banged against the floor and bath but still held on. He also showed strength when he battled Nagaina and he bit her tail and was holding on and went underneath the ground inside Nag and Nagaina’s home. For example it says,” Then he was battered to and fro as a rat is shaken by a dog-to and fro on the floor, up and down, and around in great circles, but his eyes were red and he held on as his body cart whipped over the floor, upsetting the tin dipper and the soap dish and the flesh brush, and banged against the tin side of the bath. As he held, he closed his jaws tighter, for he made sure he would be banged to death, and for honor of his family, he preferred to be found with his teeth locked.” I found this on page 22. That is really strong to hold on to a snake neck even though you are being thrown around like like air.(Kipling 22)

I think Rikki should be proud of himself because of his Bravery, his wit, and his strength. He deserves respect, love, and honor from the family for he saved their lives and he saved the whole garden from peril and
