Essay Against Gun Control

Guns do not kill people. People kill people. There are a lot of reasons that gun control is not the answer. I am strongly against gun control, because I think that if we go through with these laws it will not help. I think it will increase the deaths by guns, and I do not want people to die, that is why I am against it. There are reasons that it will not work, like it’s impossible to get rid of the supply of guns we have because it is too large. There are disadvantages like people won’t have the right to self-defense, and guns stop more crimes than they cause. Also, the number of murders by gun has significantly decreased in the past twenty years, so why are we all of a sudden trying to pass these gun control laws. These are just a few reasons why I think that gun control is not the answer to the problem with the murders. First, there are many reasons that the gun control law will not work. “There is no possible way to extinguish the huge supply of guns in the United States alone.” ”6” There is just too many guns. “If a nationwide gun confiscation program was attempted, they would have to confiscate over 350 million firearms.” ”1” There would be a lot of guns that would not be confiscated and that means that a lot of people do not have guns, but a lot of people still do have guns and those people without guns are gonna be easy targets for criminals. Also, what would make you think that a criminal would actually turn his or her gun in? If they have already broken laws, what would make them want to follow this law? This law just makes it easier for criminals to kill people because no one has guns to stop them. “Also, about half of Americans are against strict gun laws, which is a larger amount than those who are for stricter gun laws” ”3”. So why is there still an argument over gun control if more citizens of the United States do not want stricter gun control laws than do? If the law is going to affect all the citizens in the United States, then the government should make sure that more people want the law than do not. “Over the past twenty-five years, the number of Americans that want stricter gun control is declining, even though the number of mass shootings rises.” ”5”People are becoming smarter, and understand that if people had guns than more mass shootings will be stopped. Even though Chicago has some of, if not the strictest gun laws in the United States, “a person is still shot every 2.8 hours.” “1” If Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws and it doesn’t work, then how could we expect it to work in other states. People say that Chicago isn’t proof that it won’t work because Chicago is already so bad, but if we have less strict laws in other states why would bad people wanna stay in Chicago? Most groups that want to ban guns are mostly against assault guns, military grade weapons that shoot faster and farther. “If we ban assault weapons our society would not be any safer. The shooter could substitute the weapon for a non-assault weapon that is exactly the same.” ”2” The assault guns do not make it any easier for people to kill other people. The kind of gun does not make …show more content…
It will just cause even more crimes. We will never be able to get rid of the gun supply in the United States, it would break the second, fourth, fifth, and fourteenth amendments. The people who made the amendments were people who helped create this country. They would not make a amendment that would hurt the very thing that they created. And the number of murders has gone down in the past years, so why would we want to think about gun control now. We should have thought about in the last 25 years, because it was much worse than, then it is now, but now gun control is not needed. The United States would benefit more if we did not have these laws, then if we do have these laws. These are the reasons that I am strongly against gun

Murica doesn’t need Gun control Gun Control is a very hot topic these days. Some people think that having more gun laws in America would lessen the number of murders in America, however I think that having more strict gun control laws would do nothing to stop criminals from getting guns or killing people. Criminals will always find a way to get weapons. To prove this, handguns in the UK have been banned since 1998 and the murders have actually rose in numbers. For this reason I think gun control laws would not stop criminals from getting guns…

Though gun control is a necessary thing, many are against stricter gun control laws. Those opposed to stricter gun control laws would state that gun control would have no effect on reducing crime (Gottieb 1991). However, according to the Huffington Post, which states that with “Higher gun violence tend to have much less stringent gun laws” (States 2013). Having gun laws that put severe restrictions on guns are unhelpful and impractical. The government can make it almost impossible to obtain a…

The Second Amendment Some people in the United States of America feel that the Second Amendment should be removed due to crimes in this country. Others feel that if the amendment was removed, the brutal death rates would increase, creating more harm than good. Although most people believe that guns can be dangerous, we should not amend the Second Amendment because people need guns for home and self defense, guns are a reliable source to help put food on the table, and they are also a way to help keep terror groups and enemies out of our country (Gun Control Controversy). In today 's world, America has become a horrific place filled with crime and murder.…

    Gun Control?

Gun control is not constitutional and will not save these thousands of deaths because the evil men and woman that kill these people will always find ways to get illegal guns or weapons, if they took away guns that would lead to much power to the government and it is the second amendment right to own guns. For instance, the Paris attacks is a very sad example of the truth, that no matter how many limitations you put on gun control, very evil people can find a way to take advantage of law abiding citizens……

Gun Control does not prevent Gun Violence Gun control is a very controversial topic especially in today's society; whether gun control is good or bad is a very talked about subject especially when it comes to the United States. This is a very touchy subject because guns are a part of a lot of people's daily lives. People that are anti gun control believe that no one should be able to put any restrictions on guns. They believe that people should be able to buy a firearm just like a pair of boots or a tool. They also believe that if you take firearms away from the law abiding citizens that just leaves firearms in the hands of people that don't abide by the law and leaves them defenseless.…

Gun Control laws are bad news. Gun control is a big topic in modern society because more homicides are happening week by week and it is extremely sad and people feel the need to get out there and help their community. Gun laws will not at all stop gun violence because the bad guys will always find a way to get them and the gun laws will only be followed by law abiding citizen. There are three reasons that prove my claim. First is that gun laws do not lower crime rates whatsoever.…

Gun Control Should Not be Enforced Throughout American history gun control has been an issue the government and the people have debated on because of its killing power. Guns as we all know are weapons that could be deadly at times in the hand of criminals and the mentally disables. But with the same gun, to a civilian is only a source of self protection weapon. Stricter gun law should not be enforced because it would not decrease the number of gun-related tragedies, instead it will only harm those who are trying to use gun for self protection.…

Gun Violence & Enforcing a New Gun Control System Do you know when was America 's worst school shooting? Well I do, and it had only happened four years ago, and shootings here have gotten much worse today. That’s why I propose a improved gun control system in our nation. Gun Control is Not the Solution Increased Gun Control in the United States is absurd, useless, and unnecessary. In order to increase safety all throughout the United States time and effort must not be spent towards limiting gun owners of their rights. The tragic rash of school, religious, and workplace shootings has turned up the heat on the public conversation about guns. In nearly all of these cases gun laws would not have stopped the shooters from obtaining a firearm.…

Gun control causes a lot of violence and crime in the U.S., there needs to be more restrictions. Make it harder for Americans to purchase handguns, but can carry them as concealed weapons for protection. In the last year, ten thousand seven hundred and twenty eight people died from getting shot by a handgun(Gun-Control Dishonesty). Handguns should only be for protection, not because you want to kill someone. The second amendment states that it is your right to bear arms(Gun Control Costing States).…

This was not the original purpose for guns, guns were used to protect what people want to protect.
