Personal Narrative: Why Lacrosse Is The Best Sport

I come on the field ball with my stick. I walk over to the right side of the goal and I fake the pass. I barely moved the defense, but it was enough. I dart around the crease and score. Lacrosse is the best team sport in the world. Lacrosse is very inclusive, high intensity, and is similar to other sports but different enough to keep it interesting. Lacrosse is the best sport because everyone can play a position. Let's say that you are really fast but not that big, the perfect place for you would be at attack because you can run past the defense. If you are slow but have great hand eye coordination and reaction, you could play goalie. If you have a bigger body and are able to push people around you could play defense. Finally, if you are fast, big and have a lot of stamina you could play middie. …show more content…
Some people worry about getting hurt in lacrosse because of the metal sticks and the hard rubber ball, but according to the Army and Navy Academy “Statistics on injuries from the Canadian Hospitals Injury Reporting and Prevention Program (CHIRPP) estimates lacrosse players have about two thirds the injuries of soccer players; one half the number of hockey players, and about one-tenth the injuries of football and rugby players” This means that even though the set up looks like it would hurt, it is safer than even soccer, a non-contact sport. Yet another reason that lacrosse is the best and most fun sport is high scoring. Yesterday in my scrimmage the JV game was 5 to 5 and the varsity was 14 to 5. When we realize that we can only score one point at a time, we realize that we have a high scoring game. There are not very many soccer games that go 14-5. This brings us to the next reason, you don’t just stand around on the field and always do
