Personal Narrative: Volleybal Volleyball

I’m in the heat of the moment, patiently waiting for the enemies to make their move, ready to strike at a moment's notice. I can feel the adrenaline coursing through my body. I see the enemies slither into their positions and get ready to make their move. Finally, they begin their blitz and send an object flying across the battlefield to where I stand, but instead of avoiding it, I run straight to it. I fly towards the volleyball and dive for it before I dare let it touch the ground. I scramble to my feet, preparing for my next move. All of a sudden I hear the buzzer go off in the background. I quickly shift my attention to the score to see if we had won the game. To my excitement, I see that all my hard work paid off, and I have won the game. …show more content…
It has become such a part of my life that I sometimes wonder if I could ever live without it, but at one point in my life I tried to hide my love for it. Volleyball isn’t considered one of the most “masculine” of sports where I live. Volleyball in the Rocky Mountains is strictly considered a girls sport, and you very seldom hear of an all guys team. I was always questioned by my friends “Isn’t that a girls’ sport?”, or, “why do you play a girls’ sport?” I never thought of volleyball as a girls’ sport before that, it was as much of a guys’ sport to me as every other sport, but these questions caused me to hide my love for volleyball in order to avoid being ridiculed by my
