I did not make the Metro team, but I made a lower level team known as the 16 City team. I learned a lot from being on that team, and I made new friends along the way. Coming back into the school volleyball tryouts my junior year of high school, I made the varsity volleyball team. I was very happy that I made the varsity team, but I did not progress during the season very well. I tried out for the Richmond Volleyball Club age 17 Metro Team during the off-season to push myself even more. I was just as nervous for this tryout as I was when I was a freshman trying out for the junior varsity school team. I worked very hard and ended up making a higher level team than I was expecting. I made the age 18 Metro Team and I couldn’t believe it when I found out. I was so excited and couldn’t wait to become part of a team where I could truly learn how to better my volleyball skills. My Dad was still helping me almost everyday in the backyard in order for me to be the best that I could possibly be. I improved my volleyball skills more than I ever thought I could during this season of Richmond Volleyball Club. I strived to be better and I wanted it so much that it became all I thought about, day and night. My confidence in my ability soared during this travel volleyball
