Personal Narrative: My Trip To Orman Dam

This question for me has a couple stories. Since this story has to be in a certain amount of time I am going to tell the one time I thought I couldn’t wake surf. Well let the story begin. A couple of summers ago my family and I went to Orman Dam. While we were there we knee boarded and tubed. We were all having so much time and while we were doing all that my dad was filling up the ballast. If you don’t know what that is it is a spot on the back side of the boat where a giant pillow thing gets filled up with water. You need this because it weighs down that one side of a boat so you get a wake that looks similar to a wave at the ocean. Also if you do not know how to wake surf you first get handed a rope. Then after that you get into the water you say OK and the boat starts to move a little slow. While the boat moves you …show more content…
So like it was before my did went my mom went and some other people tried it and while they surfed my parents told me to concentrate on how they got up and surfed and so I did. Finally it was my turn and just like before I couldn’t. After some time I actually got up. Oh, dude that was almost like the best day of my life I finally did it but I was only up for a little bit. So after more tries and inspiration from my parents I actually stood up for a while and this is only just the beginning. I still have to let go of the rope. So another week passes by and we do the usual. We knee board tube and yeah you get the point. Now it is time to surf and I think I go first, maybe I don’t really remember it that well. Then I fell and had to get up again and this time I was

I remember my uncle taking my cousins and I to Duns River Falls in Jamaica. At the bottom of the falls he took me from the shallow ends to the deep end, a good area where my head remained above the water if I stood on my tippy toes. My uncle laid his arms underneath me and taught me to relax and float. From time to time he would slowly remove his arms, allowing me to float without his support. I would freak out when I realized that his arms where no longer there holding me.…

I plan on getting my boating license when I’m 16. We went what they call “coving” which is where you go to a place on the lake, that is safe of course, and swim all day long. We did that three times. We went to the same spot each time, which was kind of nice considering the area was familiar and you're not introduced to an unfamiliar area all the time. SPLASH was the usual sound of us jumping off the boat or doing tricks off of the water mat all day.…
