Several discussions, debates were going on supporting and opposing net neutrality. There are advantages and disadvantages regarding this. Several regulations are also brought w.r.t protect net neutrality, but bigger corporations are still trying to oppose this free and open access of internet. Advantages and disadvantages are discussed below:
Advantages:
1) No Limitations: There are no limitations on internet service usage other than the limitations proposed by the government. User is free and open to access the data that is present in the internet with much more speed regardless of pay.

There is no need to pay charges for internet service providers indeed the providers charges their cost for upgrading the technology to the corporations who need to provide their service with higher speeds.
5) Freedom of speech:
Each and every user has right to access and block the content if it is not proper or offensive. Also without this the internet service providers can provide more speed to the one who is favor to them and block the one who is not favor to them. Every user can have a right to ask service providers for their rights which is one of the main advantage of net neutrality.
Disadvantages:
1) Increase in charges:
One of the main reason for internet service providers to oppose net neutrality is spending more amount for development of their service and if net neutrality is implemented there will be loss for the providers which may result in debts. In order to bear this costs, they are supporting the charges imposing on the corporations are necessary as they have to meet the initial costs shared by them. Also in future new technology emerges and in order to upgrade to that for increase in speed and reliability respective charges should be paid by the corporations so that they can meet their costs which is a valid point. Internet service providers can limit the access of internet to the users where they can block the software’s without using them. As discussed above there will be four generalized categories like discrimination by protocol, ip address, favoring private networks and peer discrimination. Also they can block the upload and download transfer rates to the users. They can increase speeds the one who have deal with them and blocks the ones who are not in their favor.
4) Less Competition:
As internet service providers can block the access to their opposite services there will be no competition for them. Also they can support only the one with good deal and block all the web pages and sources of rivals.
