Throughout history transportation has constantly changed overtime due to trade, migration and growth of cities. Transportation innovated from trade due to the fact that they needed a faster way to sell and buy goods. Also when people migrated, they needed a faster way to get to their destination. To add on to that, when groups of peoples settle around the same areas, they start to form a community, build cities etc. As cities are form so are job opportunity, and with these jobs, people need a new way of getting to their jobs. Therefore the innovation of transportation plays a big role in the progression of society, which is shown through visual and advertisements throughout history. In the 1640 Milkmaid’s Family visual, you can see a hard working family with a mule. The mule is old and looks tired and beat up. It looks like the family is migrated, and probably looking for somewhere to stay, but that is very difficult in 1640 with very few modes of transportation. You also see a mom and a dad with two kids. It looks like they are just looking for a place to stay, a place to call home. I think this painting was intended for middle and poor class families; People that know how it feels to really work hard for what you want. This painting really triggers viewer’s sense of pathos because viewer’s can sense the hurt and struggle of the Milkmaid’s family. They sympathize for this family. In the 1648 painting of Giovanni Paolo Pannini, you can see the beautiful sculptures and paintings. If you look close you can see people writing on something sort of like a notebook, as if they are coming up with new ideas to better the future. Also if you look at the date of the painting, you can infer it was right around the time of the renaissance, and from that you can guess that the painting is from the scientific revolution. Therefore, you can guess that they may have been coming up with new ideas to progress society. This painting is intended for philosophers, history teachers, and scientist, but really anyone who’s passionate about society moving forward. This painting also triggers your sense of logos; appeal to logic. Credibility plays a big roll in it too. In addition to that, the painting really reflects how transportation progressed. In order to get to the scientific revolution, people had to migrate and build city, and build empire etc. In the 1941 Oldsmobile, you can see how much transportation evolved. …show more content…
In the painting of the Milkmaid’s family, they were using horses as a source of transportation, but now in 1940’s there is multiple source of transportation. In the ad, you notice the happy family driving their brand new Oldsmobile. This car is different from any other cars. This car has automatic drives, you don’t need a clutch to press the gas anymore, and lastly you save ten to fifth teen percent on gas. This advertisement does a really good job appealing to a viewer sense of logos because the viewer begins to think about all of the benefits of having this car, and how it could make their life more convenient. This advertisement is intended for the wealthy, and middle class citizen because this car is brand new, and most likely there are not too many cars like that. In the 1953 Studebaker advertisement, the first thing you notice is how high-tech the car looks compare to the ones we previously talked about. This car has beautiful rims; the frame is smaller than the Oldsmobile. You also notice the driver sitting in the car, but there is a beautiful women standing in front of the card touching the hood, and there are some men in the background envying. This advertisement appeal to a viewer’s sense of pathos because they want to experience the same feeling the driver has. This ad is intended for middle-class and upper class people, people that can afford the car. Lastly, this advertisement is basically saying you can be like the driver in the car if you buy a 1953 Studebaker. You can have the hottest girl and make all your neighbors envy you if you buy this car. In the 1957 Harrison air condition advertisement, you

This commercial contains a lot of logos due to the responsibility the main character possesses. The main character in the commercial has the image of an “American Hero” since he doesn’t drink and drive and always returns home to his loved ones. He also is shown as a responsible adult since he always returns the puppy to his rightful place after it escapes. Since the commercial has this view on the main character, the viewers idealize this man because he drinks Budweiser but also makes smart decisions as a responsible adult. In an advertisement by Audi, it creates a sense of power and superiority with the elegant model, the Boston Terrier dog, the clean and structured architecture, and the noticeable Audi Q7 vehicle. In the specific commercial, Maddie by 2014 Chevy the message can best be portrayed as, Chevy cars are going to last for the long run. This can be most easily understood by the last note left on the screen at the end of the commercial, “A best friend for life’s journey.” This helps watchers come to the conclusion that Chevy cars are meant to last much as the analogy that a pet will act as your best friend for life. That is the point of going through the emotions of the commercial because you will eventually make the connection that the point of the commercial is for the car to act as a “dog” in life. Another message that can be taken from this commercial is that Chevy is thinking about your life journey when the company is mass manufacturing their cars.…
