Jung Typology Analysis

Superior Essays
My result from the Jung typology test was ISFJ. I got a 34% score for the I, a 16% score for the S and the F, and a 56% score for the J. The “I” stands for introvert and with a score of thirty-four percent, it means that I have a moderate preference towards introversion versus extraversion. The “S” stands for sensing and my score of sixteen percent indicates that I have a slight preference for sensing over intuition. The “F” stands for feeling and my score of sixteen percent means that I have a slight preference for feeling over thinking. Finally, the “J” stands for judging and my score of fifty-six percent shows that I have a moderate preference for judging over perceiving.
According to the website ISFJ’s are “characterized above all by their desire to serve others…”(humanmetrics.com) and can be taken for granted, a quality that the people themselves may aggravate through their own behaviors. They often do not want to delegate and are unwilling to talk about their accomplishments. (humanmetrics.com) I see these qualities in my own life as I often try to serve others by helping them whenever they ask me to. Even if I don’t have the time, I find it extremely difficult to say no to people as I don’t want them to be upset with me. I also have a hard time with delegation as I always feel as though I need to do the brunt of the work in a group project so that others do not have to worry about the project. ISFJ’s are also “good with people in small-group or one-on-one situations because of their patient and genuinely sympathetic approach to dealing with others.”(humanmetrics.com) I partly agree with this statement as although I sometimes struggle with patience, I tend to feel things very deeply and am often more affected by certain situations than others around me. This quality can cause me to have anxiety as I am always second guessing people’s opinions of me and am always concerned about what the future holds. However, ISFJ’s are very loyal and I see this trait in my own life as well. I tend to enjoy having a very tight knit friend group, composed of a few girls that I really trust. I would rather have a smaller group of friends who I know enjoy being around me than a wide circle of acquaintances that I don’t know very well. Another area of my life in which I can see that this personality description is true is in my career path.

ISFJ’s are typically drawn to careers such as “teaching, social work, most religious work, medicine, clerical and secretarial work of any kid, and some kinds of administrative careers.”(humanmetrics.com) Having taken the test, I can now see why I was drawn to teaching. Teachers are responsible for serving their students by not only giving them a quality education but by being someone that the children can trust will be there for them. Teacher’s also have the quality of wanting to fix anything that is wrong in one of their pupils lives and if they can’t they tend to feel this on a deep level. Finally, for an ISFJ, “their families are the centers of their lives” (humanmetrics.com). They feel a strong connection to their family members and often have feelings of embarrassment if their family members act in a way that is not “the straight and narrow” path (humanmetrics.com). I

After completing both the DISC and JUNG Typology assessments, there are many outcomes that I found interesting. For starters, in the DISC assessment there were multiple categories that gave me various feedback. These included decisive, interactive, stabilizing, and cautious categories. My decisive score showed moderately low on the “D” spectrum and I thought that was very accurate. I tend to be hesitant on sharing my opinions in big group setting and I also would rather support someone else’s decisions rather than argue with them unless they are completely wrong.…

Race is a social construction created by White European men because there is no biological evidence to support the idea that one race is superior to another, therefore, giving them permission to dominate all non-Europeans and as a result improving their economic stance. There is not one clear definition of race. It exists as a social construction that was later adapted by many cultures in order to survive and thrive in what is present day America. Soya Jung defines race as an idea created by white men that classifies people into categories in order to justify contradicting ideas of freedom and slavery. Jung elaborates by saying that despite there being no scientific proof that race exists, men have created the idea of race and categorized…

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is a self reporting assessment based directly on Carl Jung 's theory of personality (Friedman & Schustack, 2012). Jung hypothesized four functions of the mind: sensing, thinking, feeling, and intuiting. Further he determined that within each person all the personality traits exist, however, one of them normally dominates. In addition, Jung described two major attitudes of either introversion or extroversion which influence the other personality traits depending on which is dominant. According to Carl Jung 's theory people can be characterized by their general attitude preference toward introversion or extroversion; their preference toward perception as displayed in sensing or intuition; and their…
