According to the website ISFJ’s are “characterized above all by their desire to serve others…”(humanmetrics.com) and can be taken for granted, a quality that the people themselves may aggravate through their own behaviors. They often do not want to delegate and are unwilling to talk about their accomplishments. (humanmetrics.com) I see these qualities in my own life as I often try to serve others by helping them whenever they ask me to. Even if I don’t have the time, I find it extremely difficult to say no to people as I don’t want them to be upset with me. I also have a hard time with delegation as I always feel as though I need to do the brunt of the work in a group project so that others do not have to worry about the project. ISFJ’s are also “good with people in small-group or one-on-one situations because of their patient and genuinely sympathetic approach to dealing with others.”(humanmetrics.com) I partly agree with this statement as although I sometimes struggle with patience, I tend to feel things very deeply and am often more affected by certain situations than others around me. This quality can cause me to have anxiety as I am always second guessing people’s opinions of me and am always concerned about what the future holds. However, ISFJ’s are very loyal and I see this trait in my own life as well. I tend to enjoy having a very tight knit friend group, composed of a few girls that I really trust. I would rather have a smaller group of friends who I know enjoy being around me than a wide circle of acquaintances that I don’t know very well. Another area of my life in which I can see that this personality description is true is in my career path. …show more content…
ISFJ’s are typically drawn to careers such as “teaching, social work, most religious work, medicine, clerical and secretarial work of any kid, and some kinds of administrative careers.”(humanmetrics.com) Having taken the test, I can now see why I was drawn to teaching. Teachers are responsible for serving their students by not only giving them a quality education but by being someone that the children can trust will be there for them. Teacher’s also have the quality of wanting to fix anything that is wrong in one of their pupils lives and if they can’t they tend to feel this on a deep level. Finally, for an ISFJ, “their families are the centers of their lives” (humanmetrics.com). They feel a strong connection to their family members and often have feelings of embarrassment if their family members act in a way that is not “the straight and narrow” path (humanmetrics.com). I
