1) Initial purpose of the meeting:
I am a social worker with the public housing agency. I have been assigned to interview all of the resident 's of this building to determine the social need of the residents. This public housing agency cares sincerely about their resident and want to make sure that they are doing the best they can at meeting the needs of the residents. May I ask you a couple of questions?
Social work roles:
The text was not clear about the roles of the social worker, beside to interview the residents. However if I had to guess what the social workers role was in this particular situation, I think the social workers role would be not only to interview the residents, but to examine the living area of the residents as well. Simply because the public housing agency would also want to know if their property is being taken care of, the social worker 's role would also involve examining the quality of the residents life, any type of welfare that is needed such as food stamps and any areas of improvement that the agency can invest in to provide better service to the clients. 2) Initial purpose of the meeting: Hello, My name is Craig I am a social worker at this hospital. I am here to inform you about the patients current medical situation. I understand that this can be a very stressful situation, I want you to know that I am here for the family , and if there is anything that I can do to make your time here at the hospital more comfortable please allow me to know. At this time the medical staff is providing life support the to patient. The medical staff is doing the best they can at providing the best medical care possible. Side note: I think it is very important to show empathy and reassure them that doctors are doing the best they can at providing the best possible medical care to the patient. 3) Initial purpose of the meeting. Hello, Everyone is aware who I am right? The reason for this group is to talk about a very sensitive topic Sexual abuse. Sexual abuse happens to one and three females while growing up in today sociality and it can be a very hard thing to overcome. Can anyone else think about a topic that is hard to overcome? Side Note: I thought about using the example purpose for intent on page 258.

But I thought that it would not match the age group that I was would be talking to. On page 258 it is referring to adults, but in this particular question it is referring to 7-10 year old girls. So I would ask a lot of question and get everyone involved.
4) Initial purpose of the meeting.

During this week’s assignment I found the interview of Dr. Allen Frances was very interesting. Being in the Human Services program here at SCC and wanting to become a social worker I have been told that I need to be familiar with the DSM-5. I definitely agree with him that normality is difficult to define and it has become a cultural concept rather than a medical concept. Dr. Allen Frances states that our society is already immersed in pill popping which I didn’t find surprising at all. My opinion and viewpoint towards this is I feel like sometimes people get diagnosed incorrectly but any easy solution to make someone feel better is by taking medications and switching them up if some aren’t working.…
