The Perceptual Learning Style is a system that focuses on learning through your senses: visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning. I am a visual learner, I learn better if I can see what I am learning about. I print out power points, organize my notes from class. I also like looking and studying the pictures and diagrams in some textbooks, sometimes during tests I can remember them to help me answer questions. Multiple intelligence also explains different learning styles. Bodily/kinesthetic, interpersonal, and musical/rhythmic are my top three learning styles. My bodily/kinesthetic intelligence basically is that I actively get involved with my learning. I just started taking my flashcards to the gym so I can go over them while on the treadmill. My interpersonal intelligence is being able to be a great leader, do well in cooperative learning, and like to be in study groups. My musical/rhythmic intelligence is essentially listening to background music while I study. I also made up a song to remember the muscles of the human body. All these intelligences are helping me become a successful student. My current note taking style is writing down everything I can that my professors has on their power point or projector, highlighting important content in my textbooks and writing my own notes in my textbooks. The advantages of my note taking style is it prepares me for quizzes and tests and my notes are organized and easy to read. The disadvantage is I am concentrating on trying to get all the notes my teachers provide but I am most likely missing out on something that my professor is saying that is not on the power point or projector. My personal note taking style relates to a couple of styles in the book. For one, I label, number, and date all my notes. Also after class I highlight thing in different colors, so it is easier to find what I am looking for when studying. One thing I need to change about my note taking is just writing down key words and listen more to what my teacher is saying then just writing down what I see. When I study before a test I like to be in a quiet place and take out all my notes over the chapters the test will be on. I also like to look over old quizzes and tests if they might have anything that could be on the test I am studying for. This sometimes hinders me because I go over notes that I later find out during the test that they are not even on the test. Like I said before, I need to write down key notes that I know will be on the test and even ask my teacher about what will be on the test. During my test I like to scan all the questions to see what the test will be like. Also during the test if I can’t think of an answer to a question I skip to the next question. When I am finish with the test, I scan over the test again to make sure I answered all the questions. I believe these steps during the test helps me prepare and not get over stressed about the test. For a true/false question, read the entire question, if any part is false the answer will be false. Pay attention to negatives such
