As a result of modern day technology, extended computer use has become more common in the work environment. Research shows a correlation between an increase in neck and upper back musculoskeletal pain and intensive computer use among workers. The increase in work-related upper quadrant musculoskeletal pain (WRUQMP) is both an individual and economic concern; because of significant economic costs due to employees being absent, decreased productivity and health care expenses. Ergonomics is the process of studying, designing workplace equipment and systems that makes it easy to use for employees by putting less pressure on their physical well being (Snell, Morris & Bohlander, 2015). It is an important aspect of the work environment. Many studies have shown that lack of ergonomic intervention is correlated with musculoskeletal disorders in employees. Musculoskeletal disorders at the workplace are described as repetitive strain disorders and it accounts for one third of the related injury leading to absenteeism from work
