Some students believed that honor codes was “another rule to obey” (Source B). This statement is true. All rules are set forth for protection and for the populations tranquility. Without rules, no one could be happy nor safe nor independent or dependent. Therefore, honor codes are their for students protection from plagiarism, failure, and cheating. Secondly, this point can be proven through the evidence that “students at colleges with honor codes-typically student-enforced- cheat less than their counterparts elsewhere do” (Source C). This adds physical statistics that schools who enforce honor codes, are more likely to possess more honesty within its students. Therefor, my school should enforce honor codes to better add good morals to the students who attend the school. To further add, honor codes should be enforced by a student body. This will help the students who don’t cheat feel more in control of their own success. Source F explained how “relying on peer monitoring to control cheating” helped the success rate of honesty and integrity. In other words, a cheaters peer convicted them of their actions not some stuffy old teacher who seemed unfair and unrealistic. This method of student involvement helped “students understand the value of academic integrity” (source F). To summarize, many students not understand the importance of academic integrity. Academic integrity is valued because it can influence the student's whole life as well as their future decisions and opportunities. Without this comprehension, the student will be more inclined to cut corners and complete as little as possible. This attitude is bad for future job opportunities as well as future scholastic
