Also, the High School can help me open my eyes to a interest I would never thought of doing. During my Freshman year, I had entered the drumline as the cymbals. I feel like drumline would be my hobby. I want to try out all of the drums in drumline. For winter, I would try to audition to bass three, but I still don’t know how to much of the exercises. I still need to master the warm ups used to get in the line. I can ask for my music teachers to help, and have friends to help get used to drumline. On top of the shock of the new atmosphere at school, I had to play my instrument with and in front of others, which was quite a stretch for me at the time. I would always beat myself up about minute mistakes I had glorified during rehearsals, playing tests, and especially auditions. However, after I did not make an Illinois Allstate ensemble my junior year, my approach to these nerve-wracking situations completely changed. Instead of thinking failing negatively, those uncomfortable experiences actually made me improve as I had taken more auditions.…
