Honestly, at first I wanted to be a Governor’s STEM Scholar so I would have another title to put on my resume and college applications. However, as I gained more information about the program and became more and more invested, I realized I was underrating this opportunity. The thought that I could meet people that have the same interests as me and are working to achieve similar goals as I am never crossed my mind.…
As children, our parents shape our ideas and opinions. When I was a child I thought Texas A&M was the only university my parents would let me attend based on the way they talked about it. I thought that they would not help pay for my college if I went anywhere else. It was not until I was in high school that I realized that Texas A&M was the only university I wanted to attend. I would like to study at Texas A&M to continue my family tradition, for the opportunities it offers after graduation and to be admitted to the dental school with a great education behind me.…
In 2004, six years after graduating High School, I knew I needed to do more with my life than I was, so I joined the Air Force. This is a very basic way to describe it. I realized I was capable of more in my life; I recognized that I couldn’t get there working where I was; I identified that the military had careers that interested me, and I narrowed the jobs down to the Air Force. This is not to say I did it all for only that reason. I also had considered the military before, as my father and most of his brothers had served in the military at some point.…
I decided to attend Florida A&M University (FAMU) for a variety of reasons, including the location of its campus, because I was offered a full scholarship, and of course, because of the pharmacy program. Moreover, I believe that I am the ideal candidate for being a part of FAMU’s pharmacy program. To begin, FAMU is located in Tallahassee, Florida, a city that I had wanted to attend college in since I was in elementary school. Tallahassee is a city of containing and surrounded by many events and opportunities, so no matter your preferred “scene,” you are likely to be able to find something you do. Another upside to FAMU’s location is that it also places me very close to my mother and the rest of my maternal family, who I had previously not gotten to see almost since elementary school.…
Taking into account Creighton University’s dedication to a diverse educational community, I consider myself a student with varying talents, abilities, experiences, opinions, and backgrounds. One aspect of my life that separates me from others is my involvement in collegiate athletics. I competed in wrestling at both the Division I and Division III levels. Through wrestling, I have obtained a large amount of experience that will help me in physical therapy school. One of the greatest American wrestlers and coaches of all time, Dan Gable, once said, “Once you have wrestled, everything else in life is easy.”…

My graduating college is the big goal that I am working toward by meeting smaller goal along the way like submitting assignments on time. Each assignment I submit brings me one step closer to my big goal .When I meet so many small goals my big goal is not as big anymore, so I have to set an even bigger goal like own my own business. Help the economy with…
Prove It Getting into the college that you want can sometimes be difficult and a long drawn out process. It’s important that I know what is required and what it is that I want and know what it is that I am getting myself into and all the great opportunities that will be available in the colleges that you consider. Such As the tuition, financial aid, what GPA I would need in order to attend the schools that I want, knowing what classes that I have to take, activities, and leadership opportunities. The two schools that I am considering attending is the University of South Carolina and Spartanburg Community College. Tuition is a hard thing to pay for if you are an average person like me.…
I am a person who believes that hard work gets you far in life. At fourteen years of age I was employed at the Papertown Dairy Bar, which I have worked at for almost four years. During these four years I have learned to balance my money, buying myself a car and keeping up with any bills that the car may bring. Working at the young age of fourteen and throughout my High School Career has taught me valuable lessons on time management on how to balance a working life, sports, academics and social life, which I would use to my full benefit while attending Penn State. My valuable time management skills would allow me just not to attend Penn State but to thrive at Penn State, immersing myself in organizations, schoolwide events, and my studies.…
What I was looking forward to doing my senior year, was leading my team as a senior to the best we could be. I was working harder than I ever had all winter long leading up to this. I had one goal that I did not see happen any of my four years there, which was getting to the state championship. There were a lot of things that had to go right for this to happen. The team had to be good, they had to work hard every day, they had to win districts, they had to win regional’s, and the most importantly the team had to get along great they have to be a family.…
The idea of “finding your passion” would periodically wake me up at night in a sweat. It seemed as if I would never find this passion people speak of and will forever remain an undecided college student. All throughout my college career, I felt as though I was waiting for an epiphany which would bestow me and I would be filled with this drive and uncontrollable emotion towards a career goal. Unsurprisingly this epiphany never came, however, an opportunity did.…
In 30 years, I’ll probably be living in a decent house in the suburbs somewhere with a loving wife and kids, grilling out on the weekends. But in order for me to consider my life a success, I would have to look back on my accomplishments and decide from there. My childhood was filled with the mind blowing instrumentals of Pink Floyd, along with the raw talent of Jimi Hendrix and Randy Rhoads, and I knew I wanted to be like them. I wanted to be a rock star.…
I am going back to school to make more money, have my children see me as a role model, and for my life long goal. I know that money is important if you want to be able to do things in life, like have a home, and go on vacation. My children will see me going back to school as a role model. They will want to do homework with me and be like me. I aways wanted to be a nurse.…
When I first started high school, I enrolled in the STEM program. Being apart of the program meant I had to double up on science, take accelerated classes, and all of my core classes have a focus on science and math. I struggled in high school, with such a large workload, but STEM taught me to persevere and never give up. One of the qualifications needed to graduate with a STEM medal, is that at the end of high school I had to take an Honors Research class.…
