If I am placed in the honors program I believe my self-confidence will rise been more and allow me to continue down the path of a well-maintained GPA. After my time with Rio Salado is…
I knew before I applied to Liberty University that I wanted to be a part of the Honors Program. After attending a question and answer session regarding the program last year, the Honors Program seemed to be a place where I could challenge myself in my courses and make life-long friends along the way. The environment seemed warm and accepting, yet also competitive and encouraging. After learning about all the Honors Program has to offer, I know it will be a wonderful fit for me during my time at Liberty University. One of the greatest benefits I hope to gain from the Honors Program at Liberty University is an excellent education that aligns with my faith.…
As a student, I am constantly devoted towards perfecting my assignments as much as possible before turning them in. I believe that being a part of the Honors College will help me to further develop identity as student. In addition to driving towards academic excellence, I aim to continue to remain dedicated and passionate towards causes that hold special significance to me. Throughout my sophomore year, I helped to lead a team of volunteers in assisting the homeless community at Dupage…
My desire to be challenged academically has fueled my interest in taking more difficult courses and my determination to join the Pforzheimer Honors College. As a rising sophomore, I am looking to make a lasting impact at Pace before I graduate and have my honors courses be my foundation for my growth as a student. I have already taken one honors level course, and I was able to display that I am more than capable of handling the work that is expected from me by the professors. The coursework was demanding and my work was held to a higher standard, but I was able to exceed expectations. This demanding coursework that can only be found as a member of the honors college would be the most beneficial way for me to grow into the student I am aiming…
The National Honor Society serves as a symbol of excellence to the student body of South Effingham High School. As a hard-working, goal-oriented individual, I feel that being a member of the National Honor Society would greatly benefit my character and scholastic abilities. After graduating from high school, I plan to attend the University of Georgia, and later Emory University to attain a degree in orthopedic surgery. I would then like to establish my own practice. As an orthopedic surgeon, I will work with the utmost care to help those who need my expertise.…
During my senior year at North Miami Beach Senior High School, I contemplated on where I would transfer to start my collegiate studies. I considered many different universities and colleges, weighing out the positives and negatives in attending each of them. However, there was one that remained as the most impressionable college: The Honors College of Miami Dade College. My older brother had joined the Honors College and continually remarked on how they changed his life and helped him grow both mentally and financially. He began speaking to me about the Honors College when I was a freshman in high school, and I worked tirelessly to be considered acceptance into this rigorous program.…
One of the main reasons I want to join the Honors Program is the unique opportunity it offers for academic excellence. It literally places a demand on you to be excellent and gives you the help you need to keep up. Academic excellence as I know it is a key that helps one open doors in future careers. It is the first step towards getting the desired post-graduate spot or dream job. The very requirement for being considered for the program says it all –a grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 out of the possible four points.…
I believe there is a more evident ambiance of respect in the Honors Program because, like the students, the professors are highly motivated. Additionally, the Honors students want to be in a more academically challenging environment and the professors want to teach these students who are hungry for knowledge. Furthermore, the smaller classroom settings are ideal for my learning process. With the smaller settings, there are less distractions and more individual attention which makes a difficult topic easier to comprehend. Also, I plan to take advantage of the Center for Undergraduate Research Opportunities since I have been accepted to the College of Engineering.…
The beginning of my undergraduate career is not impressive and not worthy of holding the title of a PA. A student’s GPA is important in order to be accepted into a medical school or any other healthcare professional school, I was well aware of that, but I did not hold the maturity to excel in my academia. However, I’m grateful to realize my mistake halfway through my semester and searched for help to turn the downhill route my grades were taking. In attempts to remedy my subpar GPA, I added a second major to help with my overall GPA; however, I did not choose a major that would be considered easy, but I chose Psychology, a major that is challenging. It soon became evident of my success in throughout the rest of my undergraduate years.…
I believe that the University of Georgia Honors Program would open up countless doors for me throughout my UGA career, and it would allow me to thrive and contribute to a smaller environment of more dedicated and passionate students. Coming from a small, very academically advanced private school, I am very familiar with and fond of this type of environment. I also believe that my high school experience, in such a unique and diverse school, would allow me to contribute greatly to the honors community. The Honors Program’s access to smaller class sizes would allow me to be in closer contact with my teachers, something that I benefited from greatly in high school.…
When I entered the seventh grade, I learned that there 's so many things that I could do with my life. There were endless amounts of clubs and activities to join. At first I found it to be immensely overwhelming, but then I realized that some activities seemed to really draw my attention. So I joined band and athletics. As a little girl band music and sports pretty much consumed me.…
As a recent graduate from the Honors College, I have spent the past four years learning the requirements and opportunities offered from the Honors College, growing in a community full of driven people, and most importantly, testing my aptitude and fortitude in pursuance of my goals. The Honors College provided me the support and resources, while simultaneously fueling my growing interest in academia. It was with great displeasure that I viewed my next few years at the University at Buffalo apart from the Honors College, and thus it is with keen interest that I am responding to the posting from the Honors College listserv for the Graduate Assistant position. As both a PhD student in the Classics Department and an undergraduate in the Physics…
Primarily, I wish to pursue a graduate education and therefore will be required to be accepted, and be capable of affording education after my undergraduate studies. The Honors College allows me, as a student, to ultimately receive the most education and experience during my undergraduate years, so that when I am in graduate school, I am a prime candidate, not only in school, but also in the work force. With that said, I will most likely be prepared, and financially obligated to enter the workforce. The prior experience and assistance from the Honors college, through the Praxis Labs and living and learning communities, will allow me to make connections with people and my field, so I am able to capitalize on my…
I have been an “honors” student since the fifth grade. After graduating high school, I had no intention of purposefully participating in anymore advanced or gifted or honors classes, anything more rigorous than normal was ultimately not on my radar. After all, these are the type of classes I had known my entire school career. Nonetheless, I was slightly disappointed when I found out that students were invited to join the honors college on immediate acceptance to Georgia State and I had not been one of those lucky souls. But I figured it was for the best at the time.…
"The mystery of achievement is steadiness to reason." Refers to uncovers a vital truth, not just promising me to try constant endeavors toward more prominent scholarly incredibleness additionally refining in me the conviction that to make top level augmentations to the humanity through the full practice of one's mental and physical resources and of one's resolve is the main right way to deal with the satisfaction and the delight of life. Presently, very nearly finishing my undergrad program, I over and over put forth two inquiries what is the motivation behind my life and in what manner would I be able to be consistent to my motivation? The answers appear to be not very hard to come. As I have decided to work in Management Information Systems as an undergrad, it is characteristic that I keep on tapping my potential in this field…
