I want to become a member of the leadership team, so that I can help further the progress of an already great group of musicians. Being a part of the leadership team is an honor. As for plans for the band, I have a lot of them. For the band as a whole, I plan to come together as a group more, and to be able to collaborate together. For my section, I plan to use the extra time we have for music learning, to make our performance go above and beyond the expectation set by previous years. It is important that a section leader be respectful, because being in a position of authority, means that people look up to you, and it is important that you provide a good example. It is also important to respect authority, whether it be other section leaders, drum majors, or the instructors. Responsibility is also important as anything else. I need to be responsible for music, scheduling sectionals, and keeping everyone on track during unsupervised rehearsals. Lastly, the ability to teach is essential. When people start out, they might not have any experience with the music. It is important not only to teach them the notes and rhythms, but also to teach the musicality of the music; the feelings and emotions of the
