Decade’s shows people who have high levels of stress lowers the functioning of memory and gradually diminish when a person's gets older. Stress is a contributing factor to the development of Alzheimer’s and dementia. Stress also affects the heart, unhealthy levels of stress for long periods of feeling negative emotions would have the heart to beat erratically. Hearts that beat erratic cause the memory not to process to clearly. Poor concentration, tension, anxiety is some of the effects of stress, which leads to developing sleeping disorders and other conditions. Research done on performance has shown that stress has a negative effect. Insomnia and sleeping disorder are some of the symptoms that are cause from stress. When a stressor is encounter, the body reacts by heightening the response system, cause the inability to fall asleep. Sleeping habits and sleep quantity were used in a study to determine if there is a relationship that ties stress to academic performance. In a cross- sectional study done at Saudi Medical school; 320 medical students were randomly picked for this case study. The medical students took a questionnaire, for the researchers to determine the student’s results. The result revealed that students had insomnia symptoms and suffered from EDS. Stress causes an impact that affects a person performance, so less task demands and more sleep can help prevent stress from affecting a person performance The 2006 American College Health Association Survey was conducted on college students. The survey was conducted to gain information of college academic stresses. The survey was conducted on 360 pre- university students. Both male and females were randomly selected to participate in this survey. The survey used a study Habit schedule to gather information from the students, which they develop study problems. The result gained from this survey showed that students had poor study habits, and had studying problems. This research shows how performance can be affected by stress, they survey tested the pre-university students to find out academic stresses. Studies have shown that stress has a noticeable effect on performance. At the University Of Minnesota’s Boynton Health Service, A survey was conducted on 9,931 students from 14 random schools. The survey was conducted to find out how stress has an effect on student’s GPAs. The researchers measured the student’s unhealthy behaviors and stress problems against the student’s GPAs. The survey revealed that student that has unhealthy behaviors GPAs were very low. The study shows that stress is a problem for performance, the amount of demands of tasks, environmental conditions and social situation has an effect on the student performance so they are not able to maintain a balance. Long term psychological stress may harmfully impact health, and has been quoted as a cause in cognitive impairment with aging, gloomy illness, and mental sickness. “Although the field is fairly new, many studies have been created to examine the influence of Neuroimmune systems on the psychological consequences of stress (Mills).” A survey that was conducted on 145 random college students, to gather stress information on the student’s health habits, health status, and self-esteem. The results revealed that the females that were not involved in school activities were stressed, and students that were stress also had unhealthy habits. This study showed that students under stress are prone to have unhealthy habits (e.g. eating unhealthy foods) which can cause health issues
