right humerous complete spiral fracture with lateral displacement
middle distal third of the diaphysis there is proximal overriding of the bone there is lateral angulation at the fracture apex |

|
JONES FRACTURE
There is a subacute or chronic appearing healing fracture of the proximal metaphysis of the 5th metatarsal It has sclerotic margins and some callus formation. |
|
Clinical indication: Ankle injury
Differential Diagnosis: Sprain Strain Tillaux fracture Avulsion fracture |
Tillaux fracture. The mechanism of this injury as an avulsion fracture caused by the pull of the anteroinferior tibiofibular ligament (ATFL) secondary to external rotation of the foot and ankle in the ankle mortise.
Occurs in adolescents around time of fusion of distal tibial physis. Physis fuses initially centrally then medially then laterally. The anterior tibio fibular ligament avulses piece of epiphysis resulting in a Salter-Harris type-III fracture of the anterolateral portion of the distal tibia |
|
Clinical indication: Ankle pain after tripping on Court Street – twisted ankle
|
A complete spiral fracture affects the distal right fibular diaphysis. There is approximately 2 to 3 mm of lateral displacement of the distal fracture fragment.
The fracture occurs above the level of the plafond. |
