Traction

Adson's

While still maintaining a feel for the radial pulse, the examiner externally rotates and extends the patient's shoulder while the face is rotated outward toward the involved side and extends the neck, the patient is instructed to inhale deeply and hold the breath


Positive test- thoracic outlet syndrome

Allen's

The elbow is flexed at 90 while the clinician abducts the shoulder to 90, the shoulder is then passively horizontally abducted and placed in external rotation, the patient then rotates the head toward the opposite shoulder


Positive test- thoracic outlet syndrome

Military Brace

the patient retracts and depresses the shoulders as if coming to military attention, the humerus is extended and abducted to 30, the head and neck are hyperextended
