There should be shorter days in school. Why? There are three reasons on why there should be. Starting off if you have younger siblings then will be able to be home before they get home, you will be able to do your homework, then you will be able to hang with your friends longer, and you will be able to either work earlier shifts or be able to get paid more money. As a result, these three reasons will explain why we need to have shorter days in school.

The first reason why we need to have shorter days in school is so we can be able to be home for younger siblings if we have them. This can come in to good use that way if your parents aren’t able to get off work to get the younger child. That way if the older child is home he/she will be there for them. For example, if your parents don’t have enough money to put the child in an after school program. If we consider

I am for the issue that we should have shorter days in school that way with us being so busy, going to school that way if we have shorter days in school then we will be able get a lot more things done then we usual before the day is over, as well as helping out with the family. Also, you can help yourself with the work that you have to deal with at school and the homework that you get from school. These three reasons are why school days should be shorter. The three reasons; they have time to do their homework after school and get it out the way so they have time to hang or socialize with friends, they have the opportunities to work earlier so they get off early and have time to hang or help themselves or parents, and they can be home before their younger sibling gets home from school and their parents don’t waste gas or have to put them in after school program. With these three reasons I hope the days get shorter. So as a result, we should have shorter days in

Condensed School Weeks Currently, there are discussions in many school boards about making a switch from a five day week to a four days. There are several pros and cons relating to the subject that have been looked over by researchers focusing on the switch. Overall, the switch to a four day school week is more beneficial for students, teachers, and school faculty members. It allows for more time in the week to learn in one subject class per day, makes school less of a stress for students, and will increase student attendance and decrease the amount of high school dropouts.…

School times can sometimes be absurdly early, but because of later start times some problems stir up. Later school start times can increase grades and the well being of the kids, but the downfall of that is that schools have to pay extra for more buses because usually a district only has a few busses, which then makes the school start times staggered. Although the wellbeing of kids is far more important. The idea of staggering school time is smart but if its hurting the health of people I would pay the extra money to keep kids safe. The first reason that school should start later is because it will allow kids to be more well rested and makes it easier to focus.…

The Mill Valley High School Board members should reject the proposed idea of a later school day because it is beneficial to students with after school activities such as sports and jobs. The idea that a later school day is beneficial towards students is preposterous because students with after school activities and jobs would need to be out of school at an earlier hour. Take John Sherwood’s testimony for example. He complains, “But it’s going to make football practice a nightmare. We won’t be able to be dressed and on the field until 4:45, and in October, it starts getting dark by 5:30...…

According to the article, "Focus on the School Calendar: The Four-Day School Week" states "State Departments of Education staff says that students do no worse than students on a traditional calendar" which proves that students who have a shorter school week do about the same as students with a longer week (Gaines). The over all results of having a four day week or a five day week are not really any different. In the article, "Top 7 Pros And Cons Of 4 Day School Weeks" research says "attendance of students enrolled in schools that have a four day week shows that attendance is improved as a result" which proves that students come to school most days because they are already getting an extra day to relax and do what they want over the weekend ("Top 7"). Most students do not want to miss school because of the make up work they would have to do from a longer school day. Some students enjoy learning and a longer school day would be beneficial to them overall.…

When teenagers get cars, they need to be able to pay for the gas, insurance and other expenses. Therefore, they need to get a job. However, to handle a job and your schoolwork is tricky. Having that extra hour, students could have time to relax and wouldn't feel as rushed to do everything they have to do. Four-Day School Week Every student in public school has said that the weekend just went by too quick. They also complain that they didn’t have enough time to complete a homework assignment because they were too busy during the weekend. Teachers probably feel rushed by all the papers that need to be graded before Monday starts back up. Everything just seems to be crammed into five days and there isn’t enough recovery time at the end. On the other hand, a four-day school week, everything isn’t crammed into four days and there is more recovery time at the end of the school week.…

There are people that want school days to be shortened and others that want school days to be longer. I believe that the school days should be shorter because a large amount of time is wasted during study halls and when they are given in class time assignments. It would be better if school days were shortened because they would have less time to work on assignments because they would not work on them anyways. Some would like to be with their families since their…
