Sustainable living is, in short, living in harmony with the community around you and the natural world you are placed in, in such a way that your actions will not harmfully affect the world around you now, or the state of that community for future generations. The fact that today's activities are imposing a heavy burden on the earth's capacity has led me to an increasing interest in environmental issues. It is emphasized that rapid production growth has exhausted natural resources and polluted the environment. I believe the sustainable living community is the best place for me to live, because I believe sustainability is a small, but an effective to have an impact on a community or in the world in general. This past summer, I worked for the University of Michigan grounds crew. I helped with sustaining the grounds all over their campus. One of the main things we worked with was composting. Composting is a mixture of various decaying organic substances, as dead leaves or manure, used for fertilizing soil.
