Wondering how the first colonists felt, when they first arrived to the new world, Emily Amend and I started to play a game called Civilization IV. Civilization IV is a game that allows its players to create settlements, occupations, and alliances with others that would allow the citizens within the settlements to survive. Civilization IV, also, allows its players to feel like they were actually just coming over to America because the players had to make decisions that the first colonists had to decide for themselves- without knowing what kind of consequences entailed. In the colonization game, Emily Amend and I had six thriving settlements-Jamestown, Puddin, Wifey, Dogtown, bcygcfgxcgxc, and Georgia, but we encountered many obstacles within the settlements, such as the geography of our settlements, trading with others, and taxes from our mother country. The first obstacle that I faced in the colonization game was where to develop our settlements. In the very beginning of the game, I explored the open waters from 1492 A.D. to 1501 A.D. Finally, at 1501 A.D, I found land, a peninsula. I decided a peninsula was the best place to settle down because the settlements that would be created would have a good supply of water and forests, so the economy could focus on both fishing and lumber. The first settlement I created was Jamestown, and I placed Jamestown right by the water, so when the boat arrived back from England with new supplies, it would have a settlement right there to…
was very bored waiting for my friends to get back to college, due to Alabama’s long breaks. I decided to see if I could finish mad men. It turns out I definitely could, and I did. I watched the next two seasons of the show ("Love Among the Ruins" to “Tomorrowland”), before I realized what I was doing and that I needed to pace myself, like a junkie or crack addict. But that modicum of self-discipline was not to last, as I then watched another season ("A Little Kiss" to “The Phantom”) in a day…
Pistols, the symbol of UK’s punk scene. Johnny Rotten, Paul Cook and Glen Matlock, all these three famous characters were friends of Malcolm and used to hang out at his shop until he decided to make them the Sex Pistols, which had a remarkable success considering that the first idea of Sex Pistols was to promote McLaren’s punk fashion shop – the Sex. With the symbolic Sid Vicious (John Simon Richie) who joined the band later, Sex Pistols were one of the bands that managed to spread the spirit…

case was the one of Megan Meier. Megan Meier was a cyberbullying victim who committed suicide when she was thirteen. This case created an uproar in the United States and caused multiple organizations to start anti-cyberbullying PSA’s. The content of the news clips revolves around the ongoing issue of cyberbullying, and the serious effects it can have on America’s youth. The two different news clips are framed differently, one being episodic and the other thematic. A thematic frame on a news video makes the issue seem like a public problem, which would in turn mean people favoring government intervention. An episodic frame would pin the fault on the bully. These two frames are easily seen in the videos used for the study. The…
