A relationship that exists to satisfy each partners needs and not out of the sense of duty, tradition or sake of the children. This leads to higher divorce rates because individuals don't stay with a partner if the relationship doesn't make them happy (personal fufilment) |

An unmarried couple in a sexual relationship living together. Some feel as if cohabitation is a step before marriage and some see it as a permanent alternative to marriage. Many cohabiting couples tend to marry if they have children. |
