World War 1 occurred because of a web of alliances that the strong countries like Austria, Hungary and Germany formed. When one of these countries declared war on the other, countries that supported rank allies jumped in and caused more damage, making the matter worse. World War 2 on the other hand happened because German was very upset with the Treaty of Versailles. There were also many other reasons that led to the beginning of WWII. A few being the Great Depression, the rise of nationalism, and the rise of leaders such as Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini. WWI lasted only about 4 years. In WWI Germany invaded only a few countries with the battles whereas in WWII Germany took over many countries with Hitler in power. Many countries were involved in both of these hellish wars. Most of the countries that took part in WWI were also in
