Violence, the word itself spikes fear into the unknown of what is to come. In Ethan Gilsdorf’s article “Why We Need Violent Video Games?” he expresses why he thinks we should keep violent video games. War, Crime, Terrorism all play a part of why the word “violence” gets the wrong point of view. In today’s modern America, violence is being labeled as a possible patsy of violent video games. “Call of Duty, Postal 2, and Thrill Kill” have all been labeled as one of the reasons why such violent activities occur. Parents feel frightened about the amount of violence their children see each time their game system powers up. They are exposed to blood, gore, and carnage when they play violent video games, parents blame these violent games as being …show more content…
The National Rifle Association (NRA) blames violent video games for the nation’s carnage and thirst for blood. It doesn’t matter what generation you’re in everyone had their “Violent Video Game”, except back in the day it used to be Rock ‘n’ Roll, Rap Music, or the start of violent video games Dungeons and Dragons. If violent video games are the true culprit then why do sales go up? Why is the teen crime rate so low? It’s because it is a good outlet for aggression, being able to kill someone or to start a brawl not only is legal but preferred in today’s teenage society. Seeing how Americas next generation is pondering about an outlet for aggression, could violent video games save them from the awful world of violence? Playing these games could just be an outlet of aggression that all people have within them. Everyone has a choice on how to live their life, they have a choice to make wrong or right decisions.
