During my first couple of years I was an assistant in the infant classroom with children from six weeks until eighteen months. This is where I had my first hands on experience with the Montessori way. I worked closely with a guide with over almost twenty years of experience who is also a Montessori certified teacher. From my very first day I knew this is something I wanted to do. From there I was able to take everything I have learned and became a lead guide in my own infant and toddler classroom. Since I began being a guide versus an assistant I have worked closely with the other guides in our school learning as much as I can about the Montessori methods across all ages. When working with my own Goddaughter, nieces, nephews and other children I may babysit for I also follow closely with Montessori way. I believe following the child allows for a plethora of learning experiences and also allowing them to be independent in making choices and learning new things. I firmly believe that having hands on experiences and opportunities with positively benefit me while taking these courses and as a Montessori
