Why Do You Choose To Pursue Your Education

1. Write about why you chose to pursue your education at this time, and how you believe that your studies will improve your career development. Be very specific and provide examples. I chose to pursue my education at this time because I am older and more focused. Meanwhile, when I was younger, I had a tendency of becoming side tracked from my studies and overall goals. For example, It took me six years to complete my Associate's Degree with time off in-between. I was inconsistent with my class loads. I would take a full load of classes and then need a break the next quarter or choose very light course work. I think that it will be much more productive to take it slow, but remain constant with my class choices. Secondly, my kids are older. They are still at home, but they are not little and are able to take on the responsibility themselves, therefore allowing me more time to concentrate on studying. I didn't have kids in my community college days, but around the time I would have transferred into a university, I got married and had kids instead. For several years, going back to school was just not an option. Third, I have cultivated the skill of multitasking more efficiently. Originally, I answered these questions as I rode with my family to attend a high school football game that my oldest son is playing in. I try and take every available moment in my day to make sure I am working towards my goals. Once my goals are met then I can relax. I recognize that as long as I stay on schedule, I don't get bombarded and overwhelmed. 2.) Create a plan for your course selections for the next two terms. Discuss how you will plan your educational path to achieve your future career goals. My plan for the next two terms is to take one class each term. It isn't much, but at this time it is the rate that I can engage in successfully in order to maintain a higher GPA. Specifically, I looked at the calender and saw that second quarter starts November 12. My plan for that quarter will be to get the Bus.1101 class under my belt. I was registered to take that class this quarter with this class, but I chose to drop it and focus on this class first then move on. For my third quarter I plan on taking Phil. 1402 starting January 28, 2016. I instinctively drift towards the social science and humanities courses as well as any art or design classes and if given the freedom to choose that would have been the areas I would have chosen my major, but I think business administration is a useful degree to have because it is so versatile. Business Administration can be used in essentially any field for corporate business in the financial field at companies like Hoopis Financial Group in Chicago, IL to working in …show more content…
Therefore, I looked for something I don't hear often or that I didn't immediately know the definition to. This question was actually challenging for me because I was able to the meaning, from the context, so when it came to the complex words, I asked myself, if someone asked me what the words competencies, computation, or consortium meant without any context would I be able to define them? Since the answer wasn't immediately clear, I wrote these words
