Why Do We Have The Right To Bear Arms Essay

As Americans we are entitled to freedom throughout our everyday lives and through the Bill of Rights we can fully understand what that means. Three amendments that I have chosen that fall under the Bill of Rights is the 1st amendment, the 2nd amendment, and lastly the 3rd amendment. The first amendment isfreedom of religion, speech, and the press which covers most basic freedoms that the people have. The second amendment is the right to bear arms which means that the people have a right to use armed weaponsin a moment of protection and battle. The final amendment is the third amendment which is the housing of soldiers that gives the people the right to a private home and has the right to deny and soldier entry into their homes without their approval. This is applicable in our everyday lives because everyone is treated equally and will not be disgraced for what they believe in or how they view society. For example although we attend a Catholic school, not everyone is Catholic and is entitled to their own beliefs without the fear of being judged. The second amendment states that the people have a right to bear arms. There has been a handful on controversy surrounding this amendment for many years on whether or not guns protect individuals. Many people believe guns should be banned all together because they feel that it has brought nothing but chaos but other people believe that guns bring protection from criminals or war. The second amendment was put so that individuals feel they can defend themselves in any case and this gives them the right to go out and buy guns without being questioned. This is applicable in our everyday lives because everyone should have the right to feel protected whether or not that means the use of arms or
