Patriotism was also an effective way to convince people to join the war. The nationalist manipulated people into thinking that they must love their country so much that they feel devoted to risk their lives for their country. Nevertheless, people fell for it. In order for the war to be successful, the nations needed to recruit more men as much as possible. In doing this, using propaganda posters were a good way to go about and convince people to join in the army. Figure 1 is a recruitment poster for the American civilians. Since the pearl Harbour was attacked unexpectedly by Japan in 1941, America needed men to fight in the war. Therefore they needed to recruit as much men as possible. Posters were the most effective way in recruiting men.
In the posters, they used patriotism to make people feel like they are risking their lives for their love and devotion of their country.
