If you had asked any of my peers for a description of who I am, they would have said that I was someone who was shy, and possibly even a bit awkward. This was a personality trait that I had been struggling with throughout the majority of my life. I had grown up as an only child, incessantly feeling out of place among my peers. It wasn’t until the middle of my freshman year of high school that I gained the self-confidence I had only dreamed about.…

Growing up in Arizona, I was raised by my wonderful parents that are gratefully still here today. I was brought up through a Christian school until 5th grade. I have heard your pleas and am pleased to hear about your pursuit of religion. While I would be gladly willing to give you that opportunity, I cannot. I have heard from some of your fellow voyagers of your tyranny actions while exploring throughout these newly found lands. I am happy to hear of your success in finding lands, but I am not glad to hear about the way you have treated their people. The goal was to discover new places, not to ruin them.…
Throughout the majority of my life, I was self-conscious and constantly worried about how I was perceived by others. As a child, I had always felt slightly out of place among my peers. I was just a little too quirky to fit into any of the groups at my school and I was too shy to force my way into one. I could not exactly understand what made me so different from my classmates and I desired more than anything to gain the self-confidence to express myself.…
Identity is what makes a person who they are. It is how you are perceived and how people see you. It's the way that you act around others that makes you who you are. People don't really know who someone truly is, so all that they can judge on is what they see on the outside. Each person has their own self identity and a different story on how they got it, whether it was from an event that happened in their life or something they grew up with.…
8th grade I had not come out yet because I still wasn’t sure about myself. I had kind of had a crush on this one girl. I told her but soon after Autumn, a different girl, had found out and yelled it kind of loud around a lot of people I didn’t want to know. I was really mad about this. 9th grade at the end of the year I got tired of the kids that sat around me, I stared to go the high school.…

On August 26, 2005, I gave my life to Christ, and it was the start of a whole new chapter of my journey. I still remember that night vividly in my head. The feelings of excitement, joy, and love were very tangible in my heart. My mom and dad were both sitting beside me on my bed while I was told the importance of this decision and how my life would never be the same. Even at 5 years old, I was aware of my decision to follow Jesus and accept him into my heart.…
One of my biggest influences was the religion that my parents taught me both inside and outside of the church building. As a child I went to Sunday School nearly every week, which helped me learn about being a caring person and about how to behave and act in the world, along with all the content taught in the classes. I also learned valuable characteristics through multiple extracurricular activities such as music lessons, school sports, and athletic hobbies. I learned characteristics like hard work and dedication, as well as having the opportunity to exercise my brain and help me develop intellectually. Finally, as I’ve mentioned earlier, my family has had a large influence in my education.…
How My Faith Defines Who I Am Faith: having a strong belief in a religion, or an even stronger belief in a God. I believe that Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sin and brought us new life through his death and resurrection. In my faith I stand as a Catholic, which means I believe in only one God. However, God is three persons, also known as the Holy Trinity, meaning there is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.…
