One isn’t simply born with the ability to be a leader, one must go through multiple trials of life to gain certain characteristics. One of the most important traits, one must have is amazing communication skills. If the person in charge has a soft and quiet voice, their audience will barely hear them and won’t be able to take them serious as a leader. The leader has to have a strong loud voice, so that when they are in front of a crowd, they will stop what they are doing and listen to what they have to say. To have a strong voice one must be confident in themselves, confidence being another key trait to be a leader. Being confident will allow the person to be themselves and not be afraid of what others think of them. However, there is such thing as too much confidence, no one wants a presumptuous or arrogant leader. They tend to only think of themselves, and not care what happens to the rest throughout a process. Another, crucial quality one need in order to be a good leader is self motivation and determination. Having motivation and determination the leader will give off a good vibe to their audience; that would get their supporters motivated and determined to do whatever is planned. Jade Hill, the former Sports Editor and Editor-In-Chief of Green Valley High School’s yearbook, agrees that all the traits stated above, but she believes the most important quality to have is “I think the most important thing a leader should have is the ability to balance being a leader and a friend. What I mean by that is a lot of times leaders get ‘I’m the boss’ engraved into their heads and that 's not what it’s about.” Hence, It 's about being good at what you do and teaching the others everything that you know. If you don’t have that balance, people won’t be as exhilarated to follow you. Hill also stated, “Be a leader, not a boss.” Everyone and anyone has the potential to be a leader, but it 's these traits and qualities that will really help one out to be a successful one. When one is born, one isn’t born with a natural ability to be a leader. One isn’t born with a personality, one acquires a personality throughout their lives. For what it 's worth, a leader isn’t born, they are “created”. One picks up on these traits by the people that surround them, the environment they are in, the intentions, values, beliefs they have. Hill, on the other hand, only agrees with this to a certain extent, she believes that, “... it just comes naturally to [some] people. But, in the same respect if people want to be a leader they with strive for greatness. But, if someone naturally was born to be a leader… aren’t those the one who will strive [for it]?” If what Hill says is true, how does one know if they are a leader? They would still have to go through certain experiences and be placed the right circumstances and surrounding to get a perspective on life or the world they think needs to be addressed or changed. For example, Martin Luther King, Jr.
