Flintlocks were invented by Frenchman Marin le Bourgeois who designed it for King Louis VIII. Main intensions of the flintlock muskets, pistols and rifles to be the backbone of the European and American armies during 1660 to 1840. This type of gun wasn’t very practical it was dangerous and had a lot of maintenance problems. You would have had to have flint continuously and keeping the gun clean was a must.
