The only problem is that nothing is being done to make up for the expanding population. They are clearly becoming overcrowded, 1.25 million are living in the 3,733 tenements from 1888 to 1890 (Document C). The simple solution to this issue is to build more to fit the people and allow for enough space to live properly. Space is becoming limited in these areas, so building up the tenements would allow for more to be in one place part of the same community and who immigrated from the same country. The future generations must be educated and know how to live without worrying about being poor. The current situation of schools here aren’t working for everyone and are exclusive to those who can actually go based on their family’s status. To increase the knowledge of this upcoming generation of young immigrants, it is crucial that schools are added to new spots all over the city. Additionally, the programs available must be more appealing to those who are not used to systems like this. Food should also be included to anyone who cannot get it on their own. Mass transportation is changing the way people get to their job, so it be given to the children
