Hyperlipidemia is important in the treatment of Type 2 Diabetes because cholesterol has a bigger role in cardiovascular diseases. Therefore when someone has Type 2 Diabetes he/she has to be observant of the cholesterol in the blood. Kannel & McGee (2015) notes that without taking care of the heart it will be hard to control Type 2 Diabetes. Cholesterol comes into play in cardiovascular disease low-density cholesterol accumulates in the blood vessels, making them smaller, the condition forces the heart to struggle while pumping blood or at times the thin vessels may cause a blood clot that leads to a heart attack or even stroke. Apart from that, high blood pressure may lead to a rapture of the veins and arteries that eventually may lead to heart failure. Good treatment of Type 2 Diabetes can be achieved if the cholesterol numbers, glucose level, and blood pressure is controlled. This is because all the three conditions can harm the heart. This means that when we try treating Type 2 Diabetes and become careless on our cholesterol in the blood the condition will worsen because the heart will be a greater problem.
