This increase should be facilitated through Medicare and Medicaid. The government should target minority groups, increase their total per capita income so that they can increase their disposable income. Instead of building more health facilities, which are costly, the program should encourage the upgrading and improvement of public health facilities to allow them offer personalized and quality services especially to diabetes patients in Florida and New York (ranked highest in diabetes prevalence).
Opening social amenities that facilitate playing and engaging in activities that enhance physical health is among the objectives of the program. Such an initiative works on improving physical fitness; hence, reduce the costs involved in preventing, delaying, or curing the medical conditions related to diabetes. To the government, a physically fit population helps in saving on expenditure, which could be spent on Medicaid or Medicare.
