Tim Gundrum is the son of a Farmer named Ron.
He went to work for Helds Farm because he wants a more stable Farm
They live in Hartford, WI
Tim Grew up as the farm kid who had nothing but farming in his mind
He was also kind of shy, though. He had a farm toy collection and a pair of blue jeans for every day of the week.
He was also interested in fertilizer science and had a job for a custom farm that did just that
Call to Adventure/start with the conflict:
One lazy cool spring morning Tim Was Watching the news. The weatherman was scary right when he said that this year was going to be a drought. Believing this was easy, The farmers almanac said so, The winter did not have much snow, and there was very dry soil that he took note …show more content…
Fertilizer was very risky because no fertilizer was proven to work. The humidity was bad enough that trucks overheated after running for 5 minutes. You could hardly walk around the barn without getting dehydrated. The humidity was BAD, Especially in the already humid silo. The unloader motor was a huge subject to the humidity. The motor would only work if he hid it and it was out of the humidity. tim told himself that he wouldn’t Just Farm. He would redesign something to make this work. He studied from 7 to 9 every night and finally made a air conditioning system for the silos. He also created fan systems in their barns. He was doing good. Three of the fields were done. A good fifty-five acres is done. The spreader worked fabulously if it had good maintenance. The best tractor that they had before tim bought his new tractor. that tractor was very old. It needed replacement. You could tell by the huge shove that you needed to get it into gear. When you get on you can feel the bent step from getting on and off so many times. The paint was worn off by the handles. There is no doubt that it shifted hard with the proof of the fact that you couldn’t feel your hand at the end of the day. It makes you Think of a way to fix it. On the third day of spreading the oil pressure dropped and suddenly the engine shut off. That was the end of the life of that tractor. Tim said, “Well Big Blue didn't like that one jerry.” They had to put Big Red on the spreader. It was completely underpowered like a sedan taking 5 sumo wrestlers across the country to WWE. You could hear the engine saying,¨I am not big enough.¨ whining through the sound of 1800 rpm’s. They still got done with spreading. It still worked great. After a week, the corn grew an average of five inches per day. His dad was more than impressed. He said, “I never saw something like this
