The Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, often called TJ for short, offers an extensive STEM-based curriculum with additional focuses in humanities and foreign languages. At the heart of High Technology High School’s curriculum is engineering. From civil engineering to digital electronics, this school’s mission is to educate the next generation of engineers, no matter what sort of engineering they wish to pursue. This is accomplished through a top-notch science, math and technology curriculum. The school also maintains a partnership with three local colleges so that their students may attend any of these three colleges right after they graduate.
In the 2003-2004 school year, HTHS won the Department of Education’s National Blue Ribbon Award, the highest honor any school can achieve. HTHS offers several student clubs to constantly challenge students, including the math league, robotics club, the Model United Nations, the school newspaper and the experimental research group.
