Knowing that Lord Capulet and Lord Montague don't want anything to do with each other let alone a marriage, Romeo and Juliet don't tell anyone about their marriage so they could stay together. Even though Romeo was banished and Lord capulet was forcing Juliet to marry someone else, they refused to stand up for their relationship. Therefore, the young couple was forced into a harsh decision; to that take their lives. People think that fate had to make two arch enemies fall in love, but Lord Capulet and Lord Montague could have ended the feud and supported their kids. When Juliet wouldn't marry Paris, Lord Capulet said he would disown her if she didn’t which is proven when he declares, “Hang thee, young baggage! Disobedient wretch! I tell thee what-get thee church a Thursday or never after look me in the face”(III.IV.61-63). The only source of money was from your family; getting disowned is like getting cut off. Romeo and Juliet were unable to financially survive if they just ran off together. Juliet was going to avoid marrying Paris even if it meant to kill herself. She didn’t want to go to the extreme of death because if she did it meant that she couldn’t be with Romeo. This led her to Friar Lawrence for his help. He gave her a vial with a substance that would make her look dead for 42 hours. When she was “dead” Romeo killed himself because he thought that she was really dead. Juliet woke up to find Romeo dead and killed herself to be with Romeo. This proves that the arranged marriage made by Lord Capulet caused this situation to
