If marijuana can be used for all of the mentioned purposes including medical purposes and recreation, then it suffices to say that other hard drugs such as cocaine can still find beneficial uses in people. Observably, there are mechanisms in place to control and eradicate drug possession and use in the U.S. that costs the federal and states governments millions of dollars. Such amounts of money should be channeled to the research of the beneficial use of drugs on human beings. Other observable effects of prohibition of the use of drugs include an increase violence as buyers and sellers have no legal mechanisms of resolving disputes; instead, they prefer using violent means of solving disputes such as guns (Miron).
