The buyers that McDonald’s targets are the final customers that go to their restaurants and buy food. The buyers that McDonald’s targets have a wide variety of substitutes and competing restaurants to choose from. As a result, McDonald’s must work hard to actively keep customers because it is very easy for customers to go to a different restaurant. This makes comfort details such as having a clean restaurant and providing wi-fi to the customers all the more important. McDonald’s must listen to the needs and desires of their customers because this can create loyal customers. Loyal customers are less likely to switch over to McDonald’s competitors such as Wendy’s. McDonald's is known for having guided core values such as commitment to people and following the Standard of Business Conduct to run their companies with fairness, honesty, and integrity. Having values and norms is based on group culture along with workers following organizational derivatives that come from trust, long-term commitment, and tradition. An example of that is McDonald’s offer in support for education to its employees. Another value of group culture is leaders act as mentors to the employees. Some of the requirements to become a shift manager at McDonald's include managing a crew, have good customer service, and training of new employees. A final characteristic of group culture is companies emphasize the development of members and want employee participation in decision making.
